Through online enrollment, on-site meetings, and communications with your staff, we will assist you in implementing your employee benefit package. Senior Account Manager
Founder and President of Compass Benefit Group, has been active in the employee benefit industry for over 30 years. Since graduating from Ohio Wesleyan University with a major in Economics/Management, Ted has always focused his career on delivering innovative ideas and concepts, along with providing the highest level of service possible to his customers.
Ted started his carrier working for a large national health insurance carrier, eventually managing the Michigan Office. He then left the carrier side and worked for a large national consulting firm. As a Senior Employee Benefits Consultant, Ted was responsible for managing a team of consultants, and focused his team’s efforts working with mid to large market accounts, implementing strategic programs designed to control and reduce healthcare costs.
In 2007, Mr. Maitland founded Compass Benefit Group, located in Berkley, MI. The primary focus of Compass Benefit Group is to consistently deliver creative solutions to all customers along with providing an unmatched level of personalized service.
Ted is a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU) as well as the Metro Detroit Association of Health Underwriters (MDAHU).
Fun Fact: Ted is an active competitive sailor and has raced in many national regattas through his career.
Sharon has been an account manager in the benefits industry for over 20 years, both on the agency and carrier side. She has a BS in Business Administration and is currently completing coursework for an MSA in Human Resource Managerment from Central Michigan University.
In her spare time Sharon enjoys spending time with her family, playing with her five dogs and gardening.
Fun fact – Sharon volunteers for a local dog rescue and often fosters pets in her home while they await adoption.
Senior Account Manager
After graduating from Oakland University with a major in Human Resource Development, Petia started her career working in the HR field as a benefits administrator. She then took her skills to work as a Human Resource Independent Consultant. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family camping, hiking, and fishing.
Fun fact – Petia is fluent in Blugarian.
